There are around sixty, even seventy species of ladybird living in Europe. The majority of these species feed on aphids. It is worth knowing that there are also species of ladybird that eat other things. There are ladybirds that eat scale insects, there are ladybirds that eat mites, which are tiny arachnids.
But the majority of ladybirds found in our gardens are ladybirds that feed on aphids.
