The ladybirds that we breed here, we have ladybirds that are red with black spots, we have ladybirds that are black with yellow spots. It is the same species. Within a single species, you can have ladybirds that are red, ladybirds that are black, ladybirds that are orange. And when they hatch, they are yellow and have no spots at all.
A few hours later, they are already either red or black. And they develop their spots very quickly.
